IASFM has recently lost a major supporter. Conference registration and membership fees pay for the meeting, but additional money is needed to support participation of refugees from low-income countries, graduate students, practitioners, and scholars. Be generous and spread the word!
The International Association for the Study of Forced Migration (IASFM) will hold its next conference in Poznan, Poland on July 12-15, 2016 (Center for Migration Studies (CeBaM) and the Faculty of Law and Public Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University). This is the first time that IASFM will meet in Central Europe! In the past we gathered in different parts of the world–Colombia, India, Uganda, Cyprus, Egypt, Canada, Brazil, Thailand, South Africa, and the U.K. –but never in the center of Europe, the continent where the largest refugee crisis since WWII is currently unfolding. IASFM uses these conferences to bring together academics, practitioners, and refugees to discuss myriads of forced migration issues to inform forced migration scholarship and practice.
By helping foster a diverse group of attendees, especially participants from the Global South, we hope to enrich the discussions and content of the conference.
