The Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, now home to almost 90,000 people who have fled the civil war in Syria, is not the obvious place for a Shakespeare production of Hamlet. The Globe’s travelling Hamlet production is aiming to visit every country in the world.

On 23 April 2014 – the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth – the Globe theatre embarked on their two-year global tour of Hamlet. The Globe to Globe Hamlet is an unprecedented theatrical adventure. On the road now for almost 18 months the company is accustomed to long bus rides on their epic tour.
