Aisling O’Loghlen is a doctoral student at Heriot–Watt University, Edinburgh. She holds an MSc. in Environmental Management from Queens University of Belfast and a Masters of Planning from the University of Manchester. She has completed internships with the International Development division of the Scottish Government, a Visiting Fellowship at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford and is currently lead researcher for the NGO Urban Refugees. Her research focuses on developing resilience of urban refugee communities in slum settlements through asset accumulation, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa.
