Bani Gill is a PhD Fellow at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen. Her doctoral research is positioned as an ethnographic inquiry into migration within the Global South, and focuses on contemporary migration from the African continent to India. Her research interests include south- south migration and refugee flows, transnationalism and mobility, urbanism, race, conflict and transitional justice. Bani holds an M.A degree in Migration and Intercultural Relations, an Erasmus Mundus program taught by University of Oldenburg, University of Stavanger and Makerere University, Kampala, as also an M.A in Modern History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. She has previously worked as Research Associate with the Refugee Law Project, Uganda, and with the South Asia Forum for Human Rights, India. Bani has been an active member of ESPMI since 2013.
